FAQ

How do I register to come to the event?

There is an easy online form to complete which you can find linked above by clicking 'register now'. Let us know your details and we will confirm to let you know you’re in. The event is open to the first 100 people so get in quick!

How many people are bringing a dish?

We have 100 spots up for grabs at the lunch table so we are hoping for at least 30-50 dishes and we will be supplying some yummy food too. There will be plenty for everyone to eat.

Do I have to bring a carrot dish to attend?

This is a shared community lunch, so we want guests to bring along carrot dishes please! You can select what kind of dish you’d like to make on the online registration form. If there are one to three people in your group, bringing one dish between you is great. If there are four of you, please bring something a little bit bigger, or two dishes. There’s a maximum of four guests per registration. And we'll provide the carrots, which you can pick up the day before.

What are the prizes and how will it be judged?

Our awesome ambassador Nadia Lim is attending on the day and together with the community she will help judge the best dishes of the day. A final selection of the top 5 dishes will be chosen by Nadia and then voted on by the community. The grand prize winner will win a YEAR free subscription to Bargain Box as well as the honour of their dish being featured in a Bargain Box or the extras section. We also have plenty of great spot prizes to pass out on the day including discounts, free weeks, merch and more!

What if I have a food allergy?

Due to the nature of this being a community event with shared food we can’t guarantee the absence of any foods you may be allergic to so you will need to use your best judgement around if you attend, what you cook and what you eat. We will have place cards to write down the name of your dish and what allergens are included in it for people to be aware of.

Can we bring one dish per household?

To make sure we have enough food for everyone we have provided some guidelines around how many dishes we encourage per person. For between one and three people, please bring one dish; and for four of you please bring a slightly bigger dish, or two dishes. There’s a maximum of four guests per registration.

How big does my dish need to be?

We will let you make a good judgement call on how big but would suggest it’s enough to feed at least 3-4 people per dish.

Where can I pick up the free carrots?

You can pick these up the day before the community shared lunch between 11-12pm. Once you have registered, we will email you the details about the location.
